Dr Dimitri Douchin is a French-Australian astrophysicist, cultural astronomer and TEDx speaker (watch here). He has a PhD in astrophysics and has over ten years of experience as a Stargazing Guide at University of Canterbury Mount John Observatory in Lake Tekapo NZ, Sydney Observatory and Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley. He is the co-founder of Blue Mountains Stargazing (Bronze Winner of 2022 and 2023 NSW Tourism Awards in the Tour Operator category) with his fiancée Caroline and the co-founder of Blue Mountains Dark Sky Initiative. Born in France, he moved to Australia over a decade ago. They are currently based in Jervis Bay.

- Location: The exact address in Vincentia remains secret until the day prior to your tour, we will email you the location with guidance on reaching the site 24 hours before your tour. Vincentia is only 4-min drive from Huskisson and 10-min drive from the iconic Hyams beach, known for its whitest sand.
- All of our sites are easy to find and have ample free parking. We take into account factors like wind direction and peak season with high traffic. Please note the beaches are not dog-friendly or wheelchair accessible, and do not have toilets. Walking time: 1 minute.
- We require a minimum of 6 participants to run the tour. You can still book for less than 6, we will fully refund you if we don’t reach 6 participants.
- Maximum capacity: 20 participants
- Private tours: Minimum 8 participants on weeknights and minimum of 15 on weekends.
- Minimum Age: Children above 6 years old. Child ticket: 6-15 years old. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Please note alcohol consumption is not allowed during our tours.
- Weather conditions: In the event of overcast skies, we will email a cancellation notification at 3 pm on the day of the tour and will offer the opportunity to reschedule with a credit valid for 3 years in Jervis Bay and the Blue Mountains, the validity can be extended and it is transferable to other people as a gift card; or to receive a refund (5% non-refundable merchant and service fees). No refund will be available if you have transferred your booking from the Blue Mountains, another voucher will be issued. If you don’t receive a cancellation email at 3 pm, it means the stars are aligned and we can go ahead!
- Cancellations: Bookings cancelled by guests are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable.
- Rescheduling: Up to 24 hours before the start of the tour.
